Lectures that Changed My Worldview

I’ve compiled a collection of all the most densely-valuable talks/lectures/podcasts that I’ve stumbled upon in the last year or so. These talks utterly changed the way I view the world and the ontological and metaphysical lens through which I’m experiencing existence. If you watched only these talks for the next month you’d 100000% level up your conscious development.

Awakening from the Meaning Crisis - The Screening Room

I’m 22 episodes into this 50-episode lecture series goliath and it’s already altered the fundamental perspectives I have on religion and meaning. The experience I get listening to Vervaeke is that he understands the core principles and historical context of philosophers and religions better than most people yet he remains entirely impartial and doesn’t even have the slightest air of narcissism.

His humility and brute intelligence is off the charts. I’ve never heard anyone talk about the majority of the insights that he presents on religion and philosophy. This series is Vervaeke’s magnum opus — decades and decades of research condensed into a single lecture series. I can’t recommend this series enough.

How to Escape Wage Slavery

Society is a giant pyramid scheme, at least according to Leo Gura in this lecture. He argues that you’re a slave but don’t know you’re a slave, and the reason that you become a slave is because you don’t know what you want in life. Furthermore, the way that you can escape this pyramid scheme is to become ultra creative and an extreme value provider to the world.

Is the Psychedelic Renaissance Doomed?

Is the Psychedelic Renaissance Doomed? Jamie Wheal - YouTube

Jamie Wheals adds some much needed nuance to the conversation of psychedelic legalization and the rising popularity of these substances for self-help / spiritual purposes. It’s not all sunshine and rainbows and I really appreciate his level-headed stance that doesn’t seem to sway too much on the positive/negative side of this debate.
