Thoughts about society/life in general.

Our world is full of hatred, anger and impatience. Our society might be moving in the wrong direction. We need to rethink our lives and look at the bigger picture. We are all the same species, so our ultimate goal in life is to (well reproduce, but) work together and progress as a species. Right now it seems like everything is a competition and we are working against many other subdivisions of our same species.(such as different religions) In the bigger picture we are all the same, we all have something in common. So have compassion towards others. Work together not against, and accomplish something as a group not as a single being. Yourself. For example, the race to space. When the US and Russia were racing to the moon they were just worried about themselves and winning. If they would just look at the bigger picture, just think of how much more they could have accomplished. We might just have a civilization on the moon if our governments put a little more thought into the future of the world and not the short term, such as money and power. We are so worried about not starting the next war that we aren't doing as much as we could to progress our species. We need to explore the unknown not just be satisfied with what is, and argue just because we want to prove a point. We need to notice that we are ignorant about the way we live our lives and there is a way to fix it. Now the unfortunate reality is that, not everyone, or even the majority will make this realization. They will spend their entire lives in hatred, anger and competition. It is hard to work together, because some people just don't want to change their ways. The reason I am writing this blog post is to spread the word, and help others make this same realization in life, because doing so will make this world a better place. I am going to end with a quote from Carl Sagan in the book Cosmos.

“The size and age of the Cosmos are beyond ordinary human understanding. Lost somewhere between immensity and eternity is our tiny planetary home. In a cosmic perspective, most human concerns seem insignificant, even petty. And yet our species is young and curious and brave and shows much promise. In the last few millennia we have made the most astonishing and unexpected discoveries about the Cosmos and our place within it, explorations that are exhilarating to consider. They remind us that humans have evolved to wonder, that understanding is a joy, that knowledge is prerequisite to survival. I believe our future depends on how well we know this Cosmos in which we float like a mote of dust in the morning sky.”
